MONDAY MAYHEM: CRUMBY WEATHER MEME

Crummy Weather Meme
Sunday, August 28, 2011

Welcome to Monday Mayhem. Today Harriet is focusing on crummy weather.

1. What city, in your opinion, has the crummiest weather?
Any hot tropical place. I absolutely hate hot humid weather.

 2. What kind of weather is the crummiest weather that your current home experiences?
Hot humid summers...

 3. When the weather alerts and alarms go off, what do you do?
I make sure all the flashlights have fresh batteries and my important papers are in a carry case...and all the cardboard boxes are off the basement floor. And all my laundry is done and all my electric gizmos are charged....cell phone, ipod, camera, laptop...

 4. What is the crummiest weather event that you have personally ever experienced?
A downpour of rain in Florida that caused a flash flood when I was driving. I was terrified as the water table rose above the rim of the car floor and my car was stalled and I was trapped for over an hour unable to drive away and too scared to step into the rushing water. We did not have cell phones then, so I had to call out for help from the car window.

5. Where would you rather be stuck for a month- somewhere where there is 20 inches of snow and below freezing temps or somewhere where it is painfully hot and humid?
I'll take the snow.

 6. What kind of weather keeps you indoors?
Hot and humid. Blech.

7. Tell us the name of one famous person and the kind of weather you would wish upon them.
I dont wish weather on anyone. I try to keep positive vibes around me.

 8. If you were the official ruler of all weather, what kind of weather would you make happen?
Spring or Fall weather in New England.

 9. What kinds of weather do you dread?
Severe...

 10. What's your weather like today?
Hurricane Irene. It missed my part of the state outside of strong wind and a little rain, but really affected other parts and over 11 people died from storm issues today up the eastern US coastline. That is truly sad and tragic. I'm so sorry for them and their families and friends and for the people who have to deal with the terrible flooding and power outages.

  1. I can't take the humidity either. So sad for the families who lost someone in Irene, what a horrible situation :(.

  2. Those Florida super-cells are pretty torrential- especially when your're not from Florida. I remember having them once at Epcot. Then the sun came out 20 minutes later- muggy as all heck. Could never live there longer than a month.

I was worried about you and B. Glad you're okay!

  3. There is no humidity in the Caribbean. 79 & dry. Perhaps you'd like that!~
