WEDNESDAY WICKEDNESS MEME: Ron Reagan

Today Janera picked Ronald Reagan. Here's Wednesday Wickedness!

1. A tree's a tree. How many more do you need to look at?
Are you concerned about mankind's intrusion into forests and jungles?
OhMyGawd Reagan was an a$$hole. Without the "trees" especially in the Amazon, we would be dead.
 2. All great change in America begins at the dinner table.
What is the biggest change that you've seen in your lifetime with the U.S?
Having our forst African American president. I cried during his swearing in, as it was pretty emotional for me (in a good way). I never thought we would see this in my lifetime. I hope he does well. I want a 2nd term.

3. All the waste in a year from a nuclear power plant can be stored under a desk.
Do you feel nuclear power is still the fuel of our future?
After working 2 years as an armed guard at Millstone, I saw firsthand how things can go wrong, especially with preventive maintenance. I am all for wind and solar energy options.

4. But there are advantages to being elected President. The day after I was elected, I had my high school grades classified Top Secret.
How did you do academically in high school?
I was a B student mostly. Got some A's. I got my A's in Art and Music and Creative Writing classes. I didn't care about applying myself in school. I hated school.

5. Concentrated power has always been the enemy of liberty.
How closely have you followed the uprising in Egypt? Thoughts?
I feel terrible that so many people are living less than tokerable lives because of the repressed gov't and working situation. I worry about those magnificent ancient artifacts getting destroyed in the fury. I wish they could move the artifacts to safer buildings in another area.

6. Democracy is worth dying for, because it's the most deeply honorable form of government ever devised by man.
Do you feel a political system is worth dying for?
Personal ethics, perhaps.

7. Don't be afraid to see what you see.
What do you see that scares you?
My impending old age.

8. Each generation goes further than the generation preceding it because it stands on the shoulders of that generation. You will have opportunities beyond anything we've ever known.
Tell us about an advance that you we will see in out lifetimes that is not in existence
Hologram TV.
 9. Facts are stubborn things.
What is something that most think of as a fact that does not ring true to you?
That christianity is the only true concept of God. I find this a frustrating and annoying theory.

10. Freedom prospers when religion is vibrant and the rule of law under God is acknowledged.
What do you think of politicians that use religion as justification of their beliefs?
Separation of State and Religeon pleez!

Rock n Roll Fridays meme: HEAVY METAL BANDS

Hi I'm DJ KathyA! Welcome to Rock 'n Roll Fridays. We are like other memes in that we will ask you thirteen questions each and every Friday, but our little "twist" is that each week we will pick a singer, band, era or category and use thirteen of their songs. Each of our questions will be based on the lyrics. Got it? Great! Let's begin this week's meme!

Today we picked Heavy Metal Bands.

1. Black Sabbath: Iron Man “Is he alive or dead, has he thoughts within his head? We’ll just pass him there. Why should we even care?”
Do you believe in Dr Kevorkian’s concept of “mercy killing” ?
Assisted dying should be a legal option with some standards set in place, such as latter stage terminal disease, a permanent wracked-with-pain health issue, or expediting latter stage inoperable cancer or AIDS. Oddly, we are allowed to have our beloved dogs and cats put down mercifully, but not grandpa.

2. Led Zeppelin: Rock n Roll “It’s been a long time since I rock n rolled, it’s been a long time since I did the stroll”
What have you not done in a long time that you would like to do again?
Go to the mall and shop freely with no regard to expense.

3. AC/DC: You Shook Me All Night Long “Cause the walls start shaking, the earth was quaking, my mind was aching and we were making it…”
Have you ever been in an earthquake?
When I lived in California, I was awakened by several "small" ones. I thought at first my bed was shaking because of a ghost, then I realised the whole house was shaking and knicknacks were falling off the shelf.

4. Jimi Hendrix: Purple Haze “Purple haze all around. Don’t know if I’m up or down. Am I happy or in misery? Whatever it is, that girl put a spell on me”
Do you believe people can put spells on other people?
I believe that some people can manipulate others.

5. Metallica: Enter Sandman ”Something’s wrong, shut the light. Heavy thoughts tonight. And they aren’t of snow white…”
What most recent thoughts kept you from falling asleep?
Unemployment and the fear of not getting hired ever again.

6. Judas Priest: You’ve Got Another Thing Coming “One life I’m gonna live it up, I’m takin flight, I said I’ll never get enough. Stand tall, I’m young and kinda proud…”
What did you think you would do as a grown up that never happened?
Change how things are run in the world...

7. Motorhead: Ace of Spades “You win some you lose some, it’s all the same for me. The pleasure is to play…”
Do you play the lottery / scratch tickets?
I sometimes buy scratch tickets. Recently got a few 3 Stooges tickets just because they were the 3 Stooges. Won $10. I do not play the lottery otherwise.

8. Iron Maiden: The Number of the Beast “Woe to you o’ earth and sea. For the devil sends the beast with wrath, because he knows that time is short…”
Do you believe the earth is headed down a catastrophic path with severe weather and climate changes, or is this just a passing phase?
I think we are reaping what we have sown. Our blasting away at the earth's resources and our pollution has caused the conditions that created the severe weather patterns we are now seeing. Mother earth is fighting back.

9. Slayer: Angel of Death “Auschwitz; the meaning of pain. The way that I want you to die. Slow death, immense decay…”
Should the USA continue to try to help change nations who have inhumane laws?
Yes.

10. Spinal Tap: Stonehenge “In ancient times, hundreds of years before the dawn of history, lived a strange race of people…the Druids”
What ancient civilization do you like the best?
In school I was fascinated by the Mayan and Aztec cultures. As an adult, I love leaqrning about the Ancient Celtic and Egyptian civilizations.

11. Kiss: Rock n Roll All Night “You keep sayin you’ll be mine for awhile. You’re lookin fancy and I like your style…”
Ever date or hang out with someone just because of the way they look?
My ex-husband was adorable eye candy. I guess I only had him for a "trophy" husband.

12. Uriah Heep: The Wizard “Why don’t we listen to the voices in our hearts, cause then I know we’d find we’re not so far apart”…
Do you believe we could ever find one government style (democratic, socialist, etc) that suits everybody in the world?
We need to learn to live in harmony with other religeous cultures instead of forcing christian ideology upon them.

13. Dio: Rainbow In the Dark “There’s no sign of the morning coming, you’ve been left on your own. Like a rainbow in the dark.”
Ever been stood up when you were meeting someone?
One of my Match.com dates never showed when I went to meet him at Stew Leonards. He was on his way out to get groceries when he called to meet me and I thought it would be a great novelty to meet him at the store and shop along with him. He was in the early stages of divorce and had not yet dated. I never heard from him after that night and after standing in the store for over half an hour, decided never to try to meet someone at a grocery store again.

DATING PROFILES: Slippin off This Mortal Coil

Thursday Dating Profiles: Slipping Off This Mortal Coil

1. Sometimes the heart sees what is invisible to the eye.
I think it's more my stomach reacting to your post.

2. I am not a righteous one, but I don't like being judged by strangers. So if you don't know me, don't say anything about me unless you want me to do the same to you.
Nah nahhh nah nahhh nahhhh...what grade are you in?

3. C'mon get tapping that keyboard.... before I slip off this 'Mortal coil'! Umm...kind of a cerebral concept for inclusion in such a stoopid sentence.

4. I am old enough to know what I deserve...players .
Holy cow! Talk about "askin for it"!

5. I want to be honest, I can write many things about me, not the person I will look at my profile want to know then wed know a little about. Clearly it is a simple request.
Wed know more than wed want about this simple request.

6. Sexually adventurous is big on my list.
Bud should jump right in on this one.

7. Personally, I don't feel there is anything interesting about me.
-sigh- ... Well then, back to the pint 'o Ben n Jerry's and cheesy movies on the Hallmark channel on a Friday night...

8. If you email me and ask me to mail you off this site for what ever reason. Including you don't get on here that often. Please do not expect me to respond.
Methinks you are probably unresponsive in other ways also...

9. Someone who thinks I make his hour, day and life brighter....who thinks I'm wonderful....and for me to feel the same way. Is that too much to ask...an honest person?
Someone lost a minute of their brighter, happy life reading this drivel.

10. Intellectually challenged...Don't hate me because I am ugly -- hate me because I am smart!!!
Methinks there are even more reasons to hate you...

WEDNESDAY WICKEDNESS meme: Charlie Sheen

Today we picked Charlie Sheen. Here's Wednesday Wickedness!

1. As kids we're not taught how to deal with success; we're taught how to deal with failure. If at first you don't succeed, try, try again. If at first you succeed, then what?
What is something in which that you did not expect to succeed, but ultimately you were successful?
A relationship.

2. Dad kept us out of school, but school comes and goes. Family is forever.
What do you think about home schooling?
Totally oppose it...kids need to be in school with other kids., If you need to teach them something, do it on your own time outside of the school hours. Teachers in schools are required to be educated and certified. Homeschool rednecks are just raising another illiterate generation.

3. I just didn't believe I was like everybody else. I thought I was unique.
What makes you unique?
My lifestyle over time has shaped me into what I am today. That may be good or bad depending on your perspective.

4. I just don't want to live like I used to. And at some point, I'm going to put a gag order on myself in terms of talking about the past. I've got to slam the door and deal with the present and the future.
When you meet someone, how much of your past do you reveal?
Probably TMI, but it's better to let them know upfront that I'm not a vanilla person.

5. I saw 28 Days. I don't remember rehab being like a day camp or being that funny. Rehab is a dumping ground. It's a big landfill.
Has rehab helped either you or a member of your family?
Not yet.

6. I still don't have all the answers. I'm more interested in what I can do next than what I did last.
Do you dwell on your past?
Sometimes I'm sad that things don't go the way they used to for me. I had youth on my side. I never realised how important that was until now.

7. I think what drove me insane for a long time is feeling like I hadn't earned most of what I achieved because it came so fast.
Have you ever profited from something that at the time you felt that you did not earn?
My Aunt and Uncle's Will left me money. We had not been close. It was a surprize.

8. I've got volumes on how not to behave. I've got more information now than a guy should have at my age.
Have you ever behaved in a way that you should not have?
I think Bud counts on it.

9. The paramedic called the press and sold me like a loaf of bread. This was news, and he wanted to be the one to report it.
Have you ever been in an ambulance? If not, have you ever been present when an ambulance was used?
I have been in an ambulance when I helped my friend who had a seizure when we were at Edaville Railroad park out in the boondocks of Carver, MA. It was horrible trying to get back to my car, which was about 15 miles from the hospital. An off duty doctor gave me a ride.
10. Uncertainty is a sign of humility, and humility is just the ability or the willingness to learn.
Is there any uncertainty in your life at the present time? In the past?I am devastated by my current unemployment.
