ROCK N ROLL FRIDAYS meme: Aerosmith

Hi I'm DJ KathyA! Welcome to Rock 'n Roll Fridays. We are like other memes in that we will ask you thirteen questions each and every Friday. But our little "twist" is that each week we will pick a singer, band, era or category and pick thirteen of their songs. Each of our questions will be based on the lyrics.
Today we picked Aerosmith.

1. Dream On “Every time that I look in the mirror, All these lines in my face getting clearer. The past is gone. It went by like dusk to dawn. Isn’t that the way. Everybody’s got their dues in life to pay” Do you pay dues or something such as a membership in a union, church, civic group, gang, etc?
Does a subscription to REAL SIMPLE magazine count?

2. Angel “Without your love, I’m nothing but a beggar. Without your love, a dog without a bone…” What is your favorite dog breed?
I love PBGBs, Coonhounds and terriers for the most part. I love all dogs.

3. Sweet Emotion “You stand in the front just a shakin your ass. I’ll take you backstage you can drink from my glass…” Have you ever been backstage at a concert to meet the band? If not, what band would you like to meet backstage?
I have been backstage with Devo and also A Flock of Seagulls. lol! As a kid, I daydreamed about being backstage with Paul Revere & the Raiders and The Monkees.

4. Walk This Way “So I took a big chance at the high school dance with a missy who was ready to play…” What was the first song you ever danced to at a school dance?
Bob Anderson, a mixed race 8th grader, (13), asked me, a gawky whitey 7th grader (12) to dance to "Joy To The World" by 3 Dog Night. It was a profound moment in my life. I found confidence to keep dancing and became quite good at it by 18.

5. Crazy “You’re packin up your stuff and talkin like it’s tough. And tryin to tell me that it’s time to go, yeah. But I know you ain’t wearin nothing underneath that overcoat. And it’s all a show, yeah.” Ever worn your PJs in public?
Only as a joke in High School for costume day.

6. Cryin “I was cryin when I met you. Now I’m tryin to forget you. Your love is sweet misery.” What is the worst film you went to see in the past 5 years?
Probably one of the later Harry Potter films. Creepy and the kids were rude to each other.

7. Draw The Line “Checkmate honey beat you at your own damn game. No dice honey I’m livin on the astral plane. Feet’s on the ground and your head’s goin down the drain. Oh heads I win tails you lose….” What is your favorite board game?
Pictionary, or any music quiz game.

8. Big Ten Inch Record “My girl don’t go for smoking, and liquor just makes her flinch. Seems she’ll go for nuthin, ‘cept for my big ten inch… Record of a band that plays the blues…” What was your favorite record (or CD) when you were 18 years old?
Tie: Donna Summer's "4 Seasons of Love", and Best of the Moody Blues.

9. Janie’s Got A Gun “It’s Janies last IOU She had to take him down easy and put a bullet in his brain…” What was the last IOU written for that you either gave or received?
Bud got a money IOU from me when I was hard up for cash once.

10. Jaded “My my baby blue. Yeah I’ve been thinkin bout you. My my baby blue, yeah you’re so jaded. And I’m the one that jaded you” Are you jaded on a subject or issue?
Several. Most vocal on disliking christian bible thumpers.

11. I Don’t Want to Miss A Thing “I don’t wanna close my eyes. I don’t wanna fall asleep cause I’d miss you baby And I don’t wanna miss a thing….” What was the last event that you missed that you regret?
A sleigh ride with Bud.

12. Rag Doll “Yes I’m movin, I’m really movin. Sloe Gin fizzy, do it til you’re dizzy. Give it all you got until your put out of your misery” What is the most miserable thing that happened to you recently?
Bud's recent hospital stay was overwhelmingly bad and exhausting for me.

13. Love In An Elevator “Love in an elevator, lovin it up when I’m goin down. Love in an elevator. Livin it up when I hit the ground…” What is the most unusual place that you have made love?
On a crisco-covered tarp.

Thursday Dating Profiles: Getting Back to Myself...

Welcome to Thursday Dating Profiles. This meme is based on a feature from WTIT: The Blog authored by Bud Weiser. This is a bit different than an "answer this question" meme.
Thursday Dating Profiles: Getting Back to Myself1. Please don't judge me by my posted pic...better ones to come soon!!!
Yep, I'm SO looking forward to them...

2. Life isn't puppies, kittens, and rainbows all the time.
Or not.

3. My goal is to get back to me over this next year.
Reminds me of that 70s song..."I've been undressed by kings and I've seen some thingws that a woman ain't s'possed to see. I've been to paradise, but I've never been to me"...

4. I can find the good in anyone and feel like I am open and trusting.
S A P

5. I give great massages.
...and You'll attract guys who want great head too.

6. Please drop me a line if you are interested in me or my cultural background.
I've often been attracted to cultural backgrounds.

7. When it comes right down to it, I enjoy putting a smile on someone's face.
Again, awaiting Bud's 3some answer...

8. I love the outdoors and being active. Loving sports and the outdoors is a plus.
Outdoor activeness divided by zero equals alone.

9. If you are looking to someone to grow older with, look no more.
Rest In Peace my friend.

10. I appreciate and find the beauty in all seasons, though autumn is my favorite.
I kinda thought he used one of my old quotes again from my own profile on plentyoffish.com! What exactly is wrong with this one Bud Weiser?!

WEDNESDAY WICKEDNESS meme: Ashley Judd

Today Janera picked Ashley Judd. Here's Wednesday Wickedness!

1. Abstinence, being faithful and correct and consistent condom use are the only ways to successfully reach everyone when discussing HIV prevention. I believe that the abstinence message alone does not solve the AIDS epidemic.
Do you think there is any realistic point of trying to teach abstinence?
I think education needs to stick to the facts. Human nature is such that given the right opportunity and circumstances, teens will do what they want. Meatloaf's song comes to mind...

2. And when I started to get wind of the fact that they actually liked me being around. That was humbling, because Kentucky basketball is a big deal, and I am not the biggest fan - I am just the most notorious one.
What are you a fan of (sport or non-sport)?
Dog Shows

3. Both my husband and I give a lot of ourselves in what we do because that is our public lives; but in my private life, I have an intrinsic right to be left alone.
How much alone time do you need in a relationship?
Some. I don't need to be joined at the hip. I hate when I'm out and someone asks where my better half is and have nothing to say to me outside of the couple thing.

4. I did a lot of hiking and I loved it.
What outdoor activity is your favorite?
Hikes and picnics in nature...

5. I get lonely when I'm a Playstation widow.
What video games are you into?
Not usually a video game player, but Bud got me a Wii for my BD and I am scouring the internet looking for fun games for it. I plan to use the sport game that came with it and a rock star game or Beatles.

6. I think it's easy for me to connect to some people, and I don't know if that's the same thing as falling in love whereas before, I might have said it was.
Tell us about a time that you thought you were in love, only to find out that it was only physical attraction?
My stoopid marriage to that cute but ridiculous younger man. A huge cost for some eye candy.

7. I think that being perceptive and having interests is nothing but an asset.
How perceptive are you with new people you meet?
I read into everything, so I'm off sometimes. I have good intuition.

8. I think that, as with marriage, you just know when it's time to have kids.
If you have kids was it because you were ready? If not when did you decide that?
I like to travel and I'd love to have a dog. Kids were NEVER in my plans... and never will be. I'm not a breeder.

9. It's up to us to take pop culture back and to express quality and dignity for both boys and girls.
What’s the best of pop culture that works for you in 2011?
Hmmm...the communication options.

10. No, I don't tolerate pressure from anyone about anything.
When was the time that someone made you feel pressured?
I was self-scanning my groceries and when I finished and was paying, I still had to bag them up. The impatient guy behind me started scanning his stuff right away and his stuff came rolling down the belt and mixed in with my order. I had said earlier I'd just be a minute bagging... He then tried to stop his stuff from cramming into mine, but the belt voided his order and reversed itself, pushing most of my stuff back to the scanner. The grocery clerk had to come over. She asked to see my receipt to prove I had paid for the items on the belt and looked at me suspicously. It caused us both about 4 minutes of delay. None of this would have happened had the man just waited like 1 minute for me to finish before starting his order.

MONDAY MAYHEM meme: The stoopid question theme

Today Harriet is asking Stupid Questions to the World Wide Buzz.

1. How and why does one become a modern day pirate?
I met a guy on Match.com who did this pirate thing on weekends and Civil war re-enactments monthly. I only went out with him twice and decided not to continue even though he had a great chemistry. A wench and a revolutionary war camp woman I am not...

2. What would happen if a government actually balanced it's budget? Could it actually ever happen?
Sure, but the hard part is what services take the hit to balance it.

3. What do you think of this "Royal Wedding" stuff?
I am totally digging it. I love the royals. Wills is going to be king and I like this gal he has finally asked to marry him. I love the the pomp n fluff of the regal ceremonies. It is HISTORY in the making. Why remove such a beautiful pagentry in this modern age of hard, cold factual life? It is magical and enhances our daily lives. I hope they keep the royals at least thru my lifetime.

4. Is Gaga really a Madonna-wanna-be? Or is she her own phenomena?
I honestly believe Madonna has more class. I like Gaga's music to a point. She is a fad methinks...it's her 15 minutes to shine. I give her maybe another coupla years before she is histpry unless she evolves like Madonna did.

5. What do swimsuits actually have to do with a Sports Magazine?
Meathead sports enthusiasts like to see semi naked women. A full life there...

6. What is the stupidest thing you witnessed this past week?
Ashley getting passed thru on American Idol after yet again another immature, emotional breakdown before a competition.

7. What is an "Ugly American"? Are they really uglier than other people?
American ignorance is ugly to the rest of the world. It is a nasty stereotype that many Americans play out when they travel.

8. If you could name your new virtual pet anything you wanted to, what would you name it?
I will not own a virtual pet. Bud has Happy and one is enough for any household.

9. Is winter (or whatever season you are in at the moment) really over? How would you even know?
I get traces of spring in the air and in my heart, but the snow is still quite apparently with us. March will be here soon enough.

10. Make up a new word to replace any 'four letter word' and share it with us in a sentence so we can use it too. You don't have to tell us what the 'four letter word is'. We can guess it.
Fiddledeedee it sucks that Bud is in the hospital.

SUNDAY STEALING meme: The Very Late One

Sunday Stealing: The Very Late Meme
Please let Bud know you are thinking of him. He is in the hospital until at least Wednesday this week.

1. Make a list of 5 things that you can see without getting up:
In the bedroom in the morning getting up...
1.The back of Bud's snoring head.
2.A poster about UCONN Nits
3.My 2 alarm clocks
4.The ugly window blinds
5.My box of family paperwork

2. How do you style your hair?
I am between styles right now, so I give it the best attempt I can...I blowdry with super mousse and then hair spray the ozone layer hole bigger over our apartment.

3. What are you wearing now?
Still got a heavy blue sweater and jeans and boots on, as it's freezing cold and I am headed back to the hospital and they are expecting snow tonight. Wearin the leather coat and a scarf too!

4. What's your occupation?
I am an office minion in a construction company.

5. What do you hear right now?
The bass boom boom of the apartment above us.

6. Who was the last person you hugged?
Bud at the hospital.

7. What is/was for dinner?
I am hoping the hospital cafeteria is still open for dinner, as the food was great and I had the best piece of orange cake in the world there at lunch time.

8. What did you do today?
Overslept, gathered Buds stuff to take to the hospital (most notably his laptop so he could post this meme), and went to see him, then went to the car dealership to get his coat he left there by mistake, then grocery shopping and watched a TIVO version of the Westminster Dog Show even tho I already knew Hickory won it.

9. Dog person or cat person?
There are no cats in heaven. Dogs rule.

10. If you had to change your name, what would you change it to?
I already did. I paid a probate judge $160 for a new name after my divorce. I did not return to my maiden name.

11. What was the last thing that you bought?
Some stuff at CVS for Bud for when he gets home.

12. If you could afford to go anywhere in the world, where would you go?
When things quiet down, I'd love to go to Egypt and see the pyramids. I love the middle eastern colors and designs in their art and fabrics.

13. Where do you see yourself in five years?
Deciding about whether to get that Life Lift procedure.

14. Where's your birthmark?
Got one on my shoulder.

This weekend I spnt almost 7 hours in the ER with Bud. Next weekend, I am dragging a recovering Bud up to the Berkshires for a maple syrup pancake breakfast in a barn on a farm where they make the syrup from local trees. It is "sugaring" season for 6 weeks starting last week.  Ahhh that New England quaintness!

16. Which book are you reading at the moment?
DOS for DUMMIES. I need it for work.

17. The last movie you've seen?
I watched almost all of MARLEY & ME last week. I had to stop when the damm dawg started to get sick...I cannot bear to watch a dog death scene.

Working, then off to the hospital to visit Bud.

ROCK n ROLL FRIDAYS meme: Fleetwood Mac

Today we picked Fleetwood Mac.

1. Go Your Own Way “Tell me why Everything turned around
Packing up Shacking up is all you wanna do”
What is the longest vacation you have ever been on?
I spent a summer in Great Britain and Ireland in 1986. I stayed in youth hostels, rode in trains, busses and I even hitchiked all over England, Scotland, Wales and Ireleand. It went by fast. I loved it so much, I returned to London to live for almost 3 years.

2. Hold Me ”there's nobody in the future so baby let me hand you my love oh, there's no step for you to dance to so slip your hand inside of my glove”
What is the worst exercise machine or routine you’ve ever tried?
I don't know about the worst, but the silliest by far was a specialty gym that had all this equipment they used with coma patients. You sat or laid down on a machine and it moved you around. Each machine worked a different muscle group. One moved your arms and legs, one twisted you slightly...it was a hoot. I laugh remembering the "workout coach" that would come over and say things like "hold your stomach in for the count of 15" or "let the machine move you into the right positions".

3. Gypsy “so i'm back to the velvet underground back to the floor that i love and now a room with some lace and paper flowers back to the gypsy...that i was...to the gypsy...that i was...”
What is your fondest memory of personal freedom?
Driving in the country on a Saturday morning...any time has been a joy.

4. You Make Lovin Fun “I never did believe in miracles, But I've a feeling it's time to try. I never did believe in the ways of magic, But I'm beginning to wonder why.”
Do you believe in magic/witches/alchemists?
I believe in pagan religions. They are the most logical to me.

5. Dreams “Now here I go again, I see the crystal visions I keep my visions to myself It's only me Who wants to wrap around your dreams and ...Have you any dreams you'd like to sell? Dreams of loneliness ... Like a heartbeat ... drives you mad ...”
Your newest daydream was about what?
The clock striking 5:00 pm at work.

6. Say You Love Me “have pity baby, just when i thought it was over. now you got me runnin', runnin', runnin' for cover. i'm begging you for a little sympathy 'cause if you use me again it'll be the end of me”
Anyone violate your trust lately?
A former co-worker ratted me out when I said something negative about the company I was with. I was terminated within a month after.

7. Sara “Sara, you're the poet in my heart Never change, never stop
And now it's gone It doesn't matter what for When you build your house I'll come by”
Do you live in a house, apartment or with a relative?
I live in Bud's man cave.

8. Over My Head “you can take me to paradise and then again you can be cold as ice i'm over my head but it sure feels nice”
How have you been over your head lately?
Financially over my head...I took out a large loan and have a $359 monthly payment and I owe the IRS over $2400 in back taxes. Just started working again last week, so I've got a bit of debt to handle for my limited income.

9. Songbird “And the songbirds keep singing, Like they know the score,
And I love you, I love you, I love you, Like never before, like never before.”
Do you believe people should have caged birds for pets?
I had 2 cockatiels I rescued from a lady who had cats and didn't want the birds. I built a special 6' x 8' cage in my livingroom to house them and give them flying room. I felt guilty any time I saw them watching the "free" birds outside the window. Even though I loved them dearly, I do not believe we should clip birds wings and keep them as pets unless they are injured and cannot fly naturally in the wild.

10. Landslide “can the child within my heart rise above?-can i sail thru the changin' ocean tides? -can i handle the seasons of my life? i don't know.....”
What season of your life are you sailing through?
I am floundering thru my middle ages...

11. Silver Springs “Time cast a spell on you But you won't forget me
I know I could have loved you But you would not let me”
Any unrequited love story for you?
Nothing tragically serious.

12. Little Lies “No more broken hearts, we’re better off apart. Let’s give it a try, tell me tell me lies…”
Ever told a lie to someone so to not hurt their feelings when they asked for the truth?
I thanked someone for having me at their wonderful party, even though I didn't have a good time at all.

13. Warm Ways “you.....made me a woman tonight sleep...until the morning light I ….i'm waiting for the sun...to come up.... i can't sleep...with your warm ways”
If you have lost your virginity, and if you can remember the event, was it as amazing as you thought, or were you less than happy with the results?
I vaguely remember and it was awful. Just awful. I was a teenager with no idea what I was doing...neither did he.

MONDAY MAYHEM meme: Things We Love

Welcome to Monday Mayhem- the cool place to be.

In honor of Valentines Day, today's meme is all about the things that we love.

1. Name a food that you love.
Belgian Chocolate Truffles. The kind with the shredded chocolate on the outside. I had my first when I visited Brugge in 1998 and never forgot them. The best chocolate in the world bar none.

2. Name someone that you love.
Bud. After almost a year with him, I cannot imagine my life without him.

3. What kinds of ice cream do you love?
Chocolate with nuts in it, Coffee, Butter Pecan, and I used to love Fudge Ripple, Black Raspberry and Chocolate Chip. I'm moody about ice cream flavors.

4. What would you love to receive for Valentines day?
A promise that I'll be with the same person for next years.
 5. What meal would you just love to eat for dinner?
V Day or regular? I love lasagna actually for a regular meal. Bud and I had our V-Day (St Hallmark) meal on Saturday. I had prime rib, steamed veggies, baked potato, crusty warm bread with butter. ...and a signature drink called "Love In The Afternoon" which had Southern comfort in it.

6. What is something that you learned to love?
Cooking again. On my own I was heating frozen dinners. Bud gets fresh cooked meals almost nightly. I had to learn to love cooking again or starve.
 7. Tell us something that we would love.
If I won the lottery, I'd send you each a cut of it.

SUNDAY STEALING meme: The Sunset Meme

Sunday Stealing: The Sunset Meme

1. What is your favorite Mexican dish?
I love hard shell beef tacos. I had breakfast (salsa omlette and Mexican style potatoes) at a restaurant in Pasadena once that knocked my socks off. When I worked in L.A. I often got a delicious pulled-chicken taco in the local Mexican greasy spoon. I have yet to find that quality of Mexican food here in the Eastern states.

2. When you were a kid, did you get started on your homework right away after school, or did you procrastinate?
Nah, I watched Dark Shadows with my mom. The family had to eat dinner way too early because my father worked a weird shift and was hungry at 4:30! We never ate dinner past 4:45pm. I'd practice my trumpet after dinner and started homework around 7:30pm.

3. What is your favorite store for home furnishings?
I like Bobs even tho a lot of it is cheap crap. I am an IKEA shopper too. All the really fancy furniture stores are fun to walk thru, but pricing can be horrible there.

4. When you were young, did you like school lunches?
I looked forward to the set menu days such as Monday's pot roast, Wednesday's Ziti, or Thursday's grinders, and always loved the desserts. I remember those little cartons of milk we had to have with the meal. I would never have believed back then that someday a vending machine would be installed in school that sold junk food and soda pop.

5. Is religion a crutch?
It either enhances your life or dominates it. I respect spirituality, but not fanatics.

6. In your region, what is the “big” high school sport?
Uugh...foot...ball...uuugh, basketball...uugh...and track.

7. Do you consider yourself rich?
In life experience yes. Financially, I am not in good shape.

8. Which of these would you have the best chance administering:
A) CPR
B) Heimlich Maneuver
C) Changing a flat tire

9. Which dance would you prefer to learn & why:
D) Belly Dance. I love watching "Shimmy" on TV.
I already KNOW how to rock n roll, line dance and disco.

10. What’s the worst news you’ve ever delivered to someone?
Calling family members to inform them that my mother had just died.

11. Name something you learned in college that had nothing to do with classes or academics.
I still relied on my parents for money and support and realized how expensive living "on my own" was going to be without them.

12. New variation on an old question: If there’s a song in your head that just won’t get out, what is your favorite (or most repeated) line in that song?
"Freedom of choice is what you got. Freedom FROM choice is what you want!" Devo were great social commentators. Pioneers of creative music video. Here is the video for that song. One of my alltime favorite bands!

ROCK N ROLL FRIDAYS meme: Rolling Stones

Hi I'm DJ KathyA! Welcome to Rock 'n Roll Fridays. We are like other memes in that we will ask you thirteen questions each and every Friday. But our little "twist" is that each week we will pick a singer, band, era or category and pick thirteen of their songs. Each of our questions will be based on the lyrics.
Today we picked The Rolling Stones.

1. As Tears Go By : “It is the evening of the day. I sit and watch the children play. Doing things I used to do, they think are new...”
What do you miss about being a young child?
Daydreaming about the future.

2. She’s A Rainbow : “Have you seen her all in gold, like a queen in days of old. She shoots colors all around, like a sunset going down…”
If you could be a royal figure, whom would you like to be? This could be a past or ancient royal as well.
Someone English. Perhaps in the Elizabethan era. I love that country.

3. I Can’t Get No Satisfaction : “When I’m watchin my TV and that man comes on to tell me how white my shirts can be…”
What is your favorite current commercial?
TROUBLE The Dog Insurance Ad

4. Beast of Burden : “I’ll never be your beast of burden. My back is broad, but it’s a hurtin…”
What were you doing the last time you hurt your back?
Shoveling snow.

5. Brown Sugar : “Gold Coast slave ship bound for cotton fields, sold in a market down in New Orleans…”
If you hired a maid, what tasks would you have her do?
Bathroom, Laundry, Kitchen...

6. Paint It Black : “I see a red door and I want it painted black. No colors anymore, I want them to turn black…”
What is your favorite wall color?
Roasted Cashew

7. Miss You : “Well I’ve been haunted in my sleep, you’ve been starring in my dreams. Lord I miss you. “
Who has been starring in your dreams lately?
The T-Rex keeps coming back.

8. Under My Thumb : “It’s down to me, oh that’s what I said. The way she talks when she’s spoken to. Down to me, the change has come, she’s under my thumb…”
Has anyone ever been under your thumb?
I know it's not Bud!

9. Emotional Rescue : "I will be your knight in shining armour, coming to your emotional rescue…”
Have you ever been to a therapist? If not, would you ever seek professional help for emotional issues?
When my mother was diagnosed with inoperable colon cancer, I went to a therapist about 9 visits to help me prevent freaking out at the perceived tragic events to come. She managed to enlighten me to the fact that my love of eating ice cream was a way of "freezing my problems".

10. Ruby Tuesday : “Don’t question why she needs to be so free. She’ll tell you it’s the only way to be…”
Do you prefer to be free or settled down?
I've been both and both have plus and minus facts. I love freedom, but am enjoying a committed relationship right now.

11. Mother’s Little Helper : "Things are different today, I hear every mother say. Cooking fresh food for a husband’s just a drag, so she buys an instant cake and she buys a frozen steak…”
What is your favorite convenience or frozen food?
I like frozen meals, veggies, tater tots, chicken kievs, and desserts. For packaged foods, Mac n Cheese, Rice a Roni, Hormel chili, and Spaghettios top the bill. I make mostly fresh food however.

12. Gimme Shelter : “Oh a storm is threatening my very life today, If I don’t get some shelter, Oh yeah I’m gonna fade away…”
Have you ever been in a tragic fire, flood or storm where damage was done to your home or apartment?
I had just moved into a basement apartment and all my boxes were still on the floor when it got flooded and ruined many of my floppy discs, cassette tapes, photos and my favorite pair of Doc Marten boots that I got in England. I was devastated and moved within a few months.

13. Sympathy For The Devil : “Please allow me to introduce myself, I’m a man of wealth and taste, I’ve been around for a long long year, stole many a man’s soul and faith…”
Who is the sleaziest man you know currently?
Probably that Egyptian fellow they want out of office right now.

4. But there are advantages to being elected President. The day after I was elected, I had my high school grades classified Top Secret.
How did you do academically in high school?
I was a B student mostly. Got some A's. I got my A's in Art and Music and Creative Writing classes. I didn't care about applying myself in school. I hated school.

How closely have you followed the uprising in Egypt? Thoughts?

Separation of State and Religeon pleez!

Rock n Roll Fridays meme: HEAVY METAL BANDS

Hi I'm DJ KathyA! Welcome to Rock 'n Roll Fridays. We are like other memes in that we will ask you thirteen questions each and every Friday, but our little "twist" is that each week we will pick a singer, band, era or category and use thirteen of their songs. Each of our questions will be based on the lyrics. Got it? Great! Let's begin this week's meme!

Today we picked Heavy Metal Bands.

1. Black Sabbath: Iron Man “Is he alive or dead, has he thoughts within his head? We’ll just pass him there. Why should we even care?”
Do you believe in Dr Kevorkian’s concept of “mercy killing” ?
Assisted dying should be a legal option with some standards set in place, such as latter stage terminal disease, a permanent wracked-with-pain health issue, or expediting latter stage inoperable cancer or AIDS. Oddly, we are allowed to have our beloved dogs and cats put down mercifully, but not grandpa.

2. Led Zeppelin: Rock n Roll “It’s been a long time since I rock n rolled, it’s been a long time since I did the stroll”
What have you not done in a long time that you would like to do again?
Go to the mall and shop freely with no regard to expense.

3. AC/DC: You Shook Me All Night Long “Cause the walls start shaking, the earth was quaking, my mind was aching and we were making it…”
Have you ever been in an earthquake?
When I lived in California, I was awakened by several "small" ones. I thought at first my bed was shaking because of a ghost, then I realised the whole house was shaking and knicknacks were falling off the shelf.

4. Jimi Hendrix: Purple Haze “Purple haze all around. Don’t know if I’m up or down. Am I happy or in misery? Whatever it is, that girl put a spell on me”
Do you believe people can put spells on other people?
I believe that some people can manipulate others.

5. Metallica: Enter Sandman ”Something’s wrong, shut the light. Heavy thoughts tonight. And they aren’t of snow white…”
What most recent thoughts kept you from falling asleep?
Unemployment and the fear of not getting hired ever again.

6. Judas Priest: You’ve Got Another Thing Coming “One life I’m gonna live it up, I’m takin flight, I said I’ll never get enough. Stand tall, I’m young and kinda proud…”
What did you think you would do as a grown up that never happened?
Change how things are run in the world...

7. Motorhead: Ace of Spades “You win some you lose some, it’s all the same for me. The pleasure is to play…”
Do you play the lottery / scratch tickets?
I sometimes buy scratch tickets. Recently got a few 3 Stooges tickets just because they were the 3 Stooges. Won $10. I do not play the lottery otherwise.

8. Iron Maiden: The Number of the Beast “Woe to you o’ earth and sea. For the devil sends the beast with wrath, because he knows that time is short…”
Do you believe the earth is headed down a catastrophic path with severe weather and climate changes, or is this just a passing phase?
I think we are reaping what we have sown. Our blasting away at the earth's resources and our pollution has caused the conditions that created the severe weather patterns we are now seeing. Mother earth is fighting back.

9. Slayer: Angel of Death “Auschwitz; the meaning of pain. The way that I want you to die. Slow death, immense decay…”
Should the USA continue to try to help change nations who have inhumane laws?
Yes.

10. Spinal Tap: Stonehenge “In ancient times, hundreds of years before the dawn of history, lived a strange race of people…the Druids”
What ancient civilization do you like the best?
In school I was fascinated by the Mayan and Aztec cultures. As an adult, I love leaqrning about the Ancient Celtic and Egyptian civilizations.

11. Kiss: Rock n Roll All Night “You keep sayin you’ll be mine for awhile. You’re lookin fancy and I like your style…”
Ever date or hang out with someone just because of the way they look?
My ex-husband was adorable eye candy. I guess I only had him for a "trophy" husband.

12. Uriah Heep: The Wizard “Why don’t we listen to the voices in our hearts, cause then I know we’d find we’re not so far apart”…
Do you believe we could ever find one government style (democratic, socialist, etc) that suits everybody in the world?
We need to learn to live in harmony with other religeous cultures instead of forcing christian ideology upon them.

13. Dio: Rainbow In the Dark “There’s no sign of the morning coming, you’ve been left on your own. Like a rainbow in the dark.”
Ever been stood up when you were meeting someone?
One of my Match.com dates never showed when I went to meet him at Stew Leonards. He was on his way out to get groceries when he called to meet me and I thought it would be a great novelty to meet him at the store and shop along with him. He was in the early stages of divorce and had not yet dated. I never heard from him after that night and after standing in the store for over half an hour, decided never to try to meet someone at a grocery store again.

DATING PROFILES: Slippin off This Mortal Coil

Thursday Dating Profiles: Slipping Off This Mortal Coil

1. Sometimes the heart sees what is invisible to the eye.
I think it's more my stomach reacting to your post.

2. I am not a righteous one, but I don't like being judged by strangers. So if you don't know me, don't say anything about me unless you want me to do the same to you.
Nah nahhh nah nahhh nahhhh...what grade are you in?

3. C'mon get tapping that keyboard.... before I slip off this 'Mortal coil'! Umm...kind of a cerebral concept for inclusion in such a stoopid sentence.

4. I am old enough to know what I deserve...players .
Holy cow! Talk about "askin for it"!

5. I want to be honest, I can write many things about me, not the person I will look at my profile want to know then wed know a little about. Clearly it is a simple request.
Wed know more than wed want about this simple request.

6. Sexually adventurous is big on my list.
Bud should jump right in on this one.

7. Personally, I don't feel there is anything interesting about me.
-sigh- ... Well then, back to the pint 'o Ben n Jerry's and cheesy movies on the Hallmark channel on a Friday night...

8. If you email me and ask me to mail you off this site for what ever reason. Including you don't get on here that often. Please do not expect me to respond.
Methinks you are probably unresponsive in other ways also...

Someone lost a minute of their brighter, happy life reading this drivel.

10. Intellectually challenged...Don't hate me because I am ugly -- hate me because I am smart!!!
Methinks there are even more reasons to hate you...

WEDNESDAY WICKEDNESS meme: Charlie Sheen

Today we picked Charlie Sheen. Here's Wednesday Wickedness!

1. As kids we're not taught how to deal with success; we're taught how to deal with failure. If at first you don't succeed, try, try again. If at first you succeed, then what?
What is something in which that you did not expect to succeed, but ultimately you were successful?
A relationship.

2. Dad kept us out of school, but school comes and goes. Family is forever.
What do you think about home schooling?
Totally oppose it...kids need to be in school with other kids., If you need to teach them something, do it on your own time outside of the school hours. Teachers in schools are required to be educated and certified. Homeschool rednecks are just raising another illiterate generation.

3. I just didn't believe I was like everybody else. I thought I was unique.
What makes you unique?
My lifestyle over time has shaped me into what I am today. That may be good or bad depending on your perspective.

4. I just don't want to live like I used to. And at some point, I'm going to put a gag order on myself in terms of talking about the past. I've got to slam the door and deal with the present and the future.
When you meet someone, how much of your past do you reveal?
Probably TMI, but it's better to let them know upfront that I'm not a vanilla person.

5. I saw 28 Days. I don't remember rehab being like a day camp or being that funny. Rehab is a dumping ground. It's a big landfill.
Has rehab helped either you or a member of your family?
Not yet.

6. I still don't have all the answers. I'm more interested in what I can do next than what I did last.
Do you dwell on your past?
Sometimes I'm sad that things don't go the way they used to for me. I had youth on my side. I never realised how important that was until now.

7. I think what drove me insane for a long time is feeling like I hadn't earned most of what I achieved because it came so fast.
Have you ever profited from something that at the time you felt that you did not earn?
My Aunt and Uncle's Will left me money. We had not been close. It was a surprize.

8. I've got volumes on how not to behave. I've got more information now than a guy should have at my age.
Have you ever behaved in a way that you should not have?
I think Bud counts on it.

9. The paramedic called the press and sold me like a loaf of bread. This was news, and he wanted to be the one to report it.
Have you ever been in an ambulance? If not, have you ever been present when an ambulance was used?
I have been in an ambulance when I helped my friend who had a seizure when we were at Edaville Railroad park out in the boondocks of Carver, MA. It was horrible trying to get back to my car, which was about 15 miles from the hospital. An off duty doctor gave me a ride.
10. Uncertainty is a sign of humility, and humility is just the ability or the willingness to learn.
Is there any uncertainty in your life at the present time? In the past?I am devastated by my current unemployment.
