SATURDAY 9 Meme: Friends Again

Saturday 9: Friends, Again

1. Do you make and keep friends easily?
I make friends easily, but I've moved around so much, I have not developed friendships past acquaintances usually.

2. Who was your very first friend?
Joey Flynn across the street. The girls in the neighborhood played stoopid games like Barbies and dress up. Joey and I rode bikes all the way to the end of the road and played tonka truck freeway...digging roads into the embankments by my house and "driving" them around. I floated my Barbie in the pool after cutting her hair and marking her up with measle dots. Not a future parent. lol. Joey grew up to be a plumber and an alcoholic.

3. Who has been your friend the longest now?
That's tough because I have childhood friends I still keep in touch with on FaceBook, but in actuality, I've had no long term friends hanging out with me. I've known and kept in touch with school mate Debbie Ford since we were 9 years old. We talk on the phone and Facebook each other often. As I've said, I moved around lots.

4. Tell us about your best friend.
Up to this year, I'd had a best friend named Rick who I hung out with as buddies for over 6 years until a huge falling out in March. This year, Bud has become my new "best friend" (and more), but I'm taking applications for a female friend so I can whine about Bud to her.

5. Tell us about the friend who gets on your nerves the most, and why.
Oh that's too dangerous.

6. Tell us about the last time you let a friend down.
I think it's when Rick's mother died and I didn't go to her funeral to support him. He has had a bad year.

7. Tell us about the last wonderful thing a friend did for you!
My friend Adele offered to help me out financially when I was in a huge pinch. It was generous and selfless. I won't forget that, even tho I did not accept her offer.

8. What was the last 'friend' thing you did?
I helped a good friend who has MS do a yard sale. I went to her house after work Friday and stayed up until 1:30 am pricing and organizing all her stuff, then got up at 5:30am and dragged it all outside. She made almost $400 and it was great quality time with her, despite all the hard physical labor and lack of sleep.

9. Have your ever been jealous of a friend's S/O?
No, never. I get my own! I have DIS-liked a friend's S/O more times than I can count, however.

  8. I wish I lived closer to you, Kathy, so I could apply for that friend/sounding board opening. You're such a good egg!

We need to get Thom a spell-checker.

Hope you and Bud have a wonderful weekend.
