SATURDAY 9 meme: My Woman From Tokyo

Saturday 9: My Woman From Tokyo

1. Have you ever been to Japan? If not would you like to travel there?
No I have not. I would love to visit the mountains and see their historic temples.

2. Have you ever played a game that required removal of clothing?
Ummm...yep.
 3. Have you ever dated one of your best friends?
Yes. Just before Bud. It's difficult to be best friends with a former datemate.

4. Have you ever kissed someone you didn't know?
One New Year's Eve at a nightclub at 19, I kissed EVERY man in the crowded room at midnight. My bad.

5. What is your secret guaranteed weeping movie?
Imitation of Life... the 1936 version about 2 single moms, one african-american and one white american, raising their daughters together and starting what seems to be the Aunt Jemima Pancake Company. I always cry when the funeral begins.

6. What feature are you most insecure about?
I have a snaggle tooth that ruins my smile on one side. In some photos, I can appear to have a tooth missing if the light shines on it the right way.

7. What do you miss most about being young?
Being young! Having the future to fall back on as an excuse not to act NOW and daydream of glories. The future came too fast for me. I was not ready for becoming a middle aged woman. "shudders".

8. Who is the most annoying musical artist EVER?
Broadway singers (anyone with a heavy vibratto in their voice).

9. Have you ever applied for a job that was an internet hoax, asking for credit history and your social security number?
About 100 times. If you look at job ads on Craig's List, many of the plain title "Admin Assistant","Office Manager" or "Front Desk" are bait. If you apply to them, you get a generic e-mail from "Hiring Manager" or "HR @ someone's name.com" telling you that you are the perfect candidate for the position (they never specify WHAT position) and you are recommended to get a credit report by using THEIR link, or can take an IQ quiz as the first step of the hiring process.

The landing page for the Credit Report is a bogus credit agency. Now your e-mail is registered to be sold to spam companies, or your banking info is gathered for ID Theft crime.

The other scam is a job site that promises great jobs in your area. You fill out an "application" and they send you a list of jobs to "apply" for. Every time you apply for any of those jobs, you get calls asking if you want to sign up for online education courses! I still get calls, even after reporting them to authorities.

What really bothers me about these scams is that they prey upon poor unemployed people. Kickin a man when he's down so to speak.

  2. I'm so glad I haven't had to apply for a job in a really long time. The job market is so terrible right now..made worse by scams!
